Bachelor of business administration at EAFIT university with more than 40 years of experience, 10  of which he worked at top positions in the banking sector, including 5 years as President of Banco Comercial Antioqueño (Bancoquia). Since 1998 he is consultant partner and founder of Valor & Estrategia S.A.

Jorge started his career in Coltejer, then he went to Holland for one year to work for NV. Stoomspinereij Twenthe. In 1976 he began working for the financial sector, in the Banco Internacional de Colombia (Citibank) in Medellín, reaching the position of Assistant Manager in this city. In 1980 he was the Director of Medellín Office with Serfinansa, a commercial financing company, and later he became Serfinansa’s National Credit Director and Vice-President. In 1982 he signed as Vice-president of Invercrédito, a commercial financing Company; within the next 5 years, Invercredito became the leader company in commercial loans

Afterward, He joined Banco Santander in 1987 as Commercial Vice-president, and from 1988 until 1991 he was the Bank’s CEO. In the second half of 1991 he leaded the merger between Banco Comercial Antioqueño and Banco Santander. In January 1992 he was appointed as Bancoquia’s CEO, until May 1997 when the bank was finally sold to Banco Santander (Spain).

He has been member of several boards in the corporate and financial sector.
